David Beisel and Lavish Collect $5,000 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby Victory at Kentucky Spring Classic

Lexington, Ky. – May 16, 2015

 

Steve Heinecke and Jane Olsen Fisher's So Lucky took the high options and were awarded a score of 89.5 in the classic round, beating David Beisel's initial score of 89.

 

The pair returned for the handy, earning a 90 with the high options to secure the third place ribbon.

Winning the $5,000 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby was no easy feat. It required besting a competitive field of 59 entries and waiting out a few passing rain showers, but there was one mount who made riding away with the victory look easy — Jane Olson Fisher’s Stoli.

 

With Steve Heinecke in the irons, Stoli took over the lead halfway through the first round, and he held it all the way through to the end, earning the victory gallop around the Stonelea Ring at the Kentucky Horse Park.

The Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) hosted its first $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby of the season during Week Five of the Tryon Spring series on Saturday, May 21, in the George H. Morris Arena. Among the two panels of judges was top professional hunter rider and trainer Steve Heinecke of Sock Inc. along with Leslie Emerson, Otis Brown Jr. and Heidi D'Angelo.

Professional hunter rider, trainer, judge and owner of Sock Inc., based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Steve Heinecke, will return to the New England Equitation Championships (NEEC) to judge this year's competition alongside Diane Carney, Betty Oare, Otis Brown, Mary Babick and course designer Ken Krome at the Eastern States Coliseum in West Springfield, Massachusetts, Oct. 19–23.

Sock Inc. Captures Championships at Tryon Fall Series

Sock Inc. clients and horses wrapped up another successful few weeks of showing at the Tryon Fall series, taking home championships and top placings throughout both Weeks Two and Four.

​During Week Two of competition, Steve Heinecke, owner and head trainer of Sock Inc., rode sale horse Hercules VD Vromboutshoeve, better known as Hercules in the barn, to a second and third place finish in the Performance Hunter division, a division they have consistently earned ribbons in throughout the summer.
